The 26th Rochelle Stevens Invitational
St. George's Independent School May28, 2016 Collierville, Tn It was the 26th year for Olympic Champion Rochelle Stevens Invitational Track Meet in Collierville, TN. It started with an Opening Ceremony filled with U.S. Olympic Flags, Olympic Day Flag in honor of 2016 Rio Olympics, sponsors, club and school coaches. This meet attracted athletes ages 2 to 80 years old from the southern region of the United States with a twist of Elite athletes competing to help inspire the younger athletes to pursue their dreams of becoming a track star. With 700 athletes college coaches and recruiters had their hands filled with so many talented athletes running, jumping and participating in field events. Beautiful weather always helps our athletes to perform well. In the Men Seniors Division Mr. Phil 80 years old was ranked 2nd in the U.S. 400 meters, Mr. Bud 70 years old was ranked 2nd in the U.S. 800 meters, Linda Cofield 62 years old was ranked 1st in the Women 400 meters. We were thrilled to watch Bless Dutch of Ghana a junior from University of Arkansas at Little Rock clock 53.66 in the Women 400 meters. Nicole Lincoln of Chicago was not missing a beat winning the Masters Women 44-49 years old 100, 200, & long jump. We are looking forward to next year's meet 2017 Memorial Day Weekend. |
